Chandra Habein is a freelance illustrator and comic artist based in Minnesota. She graduated from the College of Visual Arts with a BFA in illustration and specializes in manga and anime fantasy art. Chandra is very passionate about story-telling and art that helps promote healing and hope through fantasy escapism, and presented her senior thesis on it’s therapeutic benefits for victims of trauma and abuse. 

 

She's inspired by Hayao Miyazaki and Studio Ghibli, 90's anime and manga (with a special emphasis on Rumiko Takahashi), 1989-1999 Disney Renaissance Era films (specifically Beauty and the Beast), and the illustrator Arthur Rackham. She also loves romance, fairy-tales, fantasy, and science-fiction. Chandra also has an interest in fashion and costume design.

 

Chandra is currently pursuing her childhood dream of becoming a comic book writer and illustrator. She is in the process of writing a fantasy series called Sunny Hill and the Sorcerer with the hopes to publish it in the near future. ​
